Operating Profit at Risk is an evidence-based, confidence-rated range of operating profit exposure associated with the execution conditions around a defined decision, read before the capital is committed.
The first range is sector-aware because it is weighted against a peer index built from public company filings. An organization does not need its own measurement history for the first reading to be grounded in comparable operating environments.
As the organization re-reads, its own evidence carries progressively more of the weight, and the range becomes increasingly representative of its own execution environment rather than its sector's.
Where the evidence does not support a confidence-rated range, NAVETRA reports that limitation rather than quantifying through it. Assumptions and limitations travel with every range.
